Elyse Romano - Director/Owner
Elyse received a degree in Early Childhood and Elementary Education from Florida State University in 1989. She taught in the public school system in Florida. Elyse studied theatre at Young Actors Theater in Tallahassee, Florida under the direction of Christina Williams. Elyse opened Young Actors Studio in 2006 guided by the studio's driving principle of Elevating Students Through the Performing Arts.
Angela Hoppes - Director of Public Relations/Instructor
Angela received her Bachelor of Science Degree from Bowling Green State University where she majored in Elementary Education and minored in Early Childhood Development. She also earned her Master’s Degree as a Reading Specialist from Baldwin Wallace College for grades K-12. Prior to becoming a stay at home mom to four beautiful children, Angela taught Preschool and Fifth and Sixth grades in both Massachusetts and the Cleveland area. Due to her various travels, Angela is certified to teach in Ohio, Massachusetts, and Virginia. She also has lived overseas in England for two years which fueled her fire to start hosting outrageous Birthday Parties for her children. She has put these skills to use, organizing many of YAS’s cast parties and other catered events. For the past year, Angela has served as Young Actors Studio’s Director of Public Relations. She is thrilled to finally return to the classroom and teach once again!
John Eley - Music Director
John Eley is a baritone who recently finished studying at the Royal Academy of Music under Alex Ashworth and Mary Hill. He is a soloist with a vast repertoire and years of performance experience both in the USA and England. He is thankful for the support of the Josephine Baker Trust and his teachers at the Academy, as well as that of his family and his wonderful wife, Haley.
Danielle Walker - Choreographer
Danielle received her teaching degree from The University of Akron and has a Master's Degree in Literacy. She taught third and fourth grade before starting a family. She was a member of The University of Akron's Dance Team and spent four years dancing for the Cleveland Indians. In 2012, Danielle proudly joined the staff at Young Actors Studio.
Joan Archer - Costumer
Joan received her Bachelor of Science Degree from The Ohio State University where she majored in Elementary Education. She taught for ten years in the Columbus and Cleveland areas and currently works at an educational publishing company in Beachwood. Joan loves working with the awesome kids and staff at Young Actors Studio where her motto is: "Anything can be achieved with a glue gun and duct tape."
